Bury St. Edmunds Bulldogs Reserve team ran out to a comfortable 102-52 home win against East Cambs Warriors in Division 2 of the Cambridge League at Skyliner.

The Bulldogs hard-working defence and fast-paced offence proved too much for an East Cambs side playing their first season in the Cambridge League.

Sonjay Williams led the side in scoring.

After a strong first quarter saw Bury take a 30-18 lead, the second quarter was more evenly matched, with the lead extending by just one point. The second half was all Bury though, and by the end of a runaway fourth quarter they hit the 100 point mark for the first time this season.

“Before the game I asked our players to focus on three things: Keeping it simple, communication and pace, and they did all three very well,” said Bury coach Glenn Collins after the game. “It was also great that some of the less-experienced players got a chance to play a bit more today and they all did well.”

Sonjay Williams led the scoring for Bury with 24 points, followed by Jason Sykes (19) and Ernest Isokpehi (15).

The Bulldogs will look to continue their good form in their next Cambridge League game, when they host Cambourne Raptors at Skyliner, at 6:00pm on 8th December.
