Bury St. Bulldogs Reserves advanced to the semi finals of the Suffolk Senior Cup with a 70-63 quarter-final win over Ipswich Saxons at Inspire Suffolk.

In a hard fought game the lead changed hands several times before a 16-0 run in the fourth quarter saw Bury take control and close out the win.

Bulldogs Coach Glenn Collins was delighted with his team’s resilience. “Saxons are always a difficult team to play and we had to battle for 40 minutes tonight."

"They started the second half better than we did and we could have given up when they built a 15 point lead. Instead, we rose to the challenge and outscored them 35-13 over the last 15 minutes.”

Sonjay Williams led the scoring for Bury with 22 points including 6 three pointers. Rookie Luca Beadle added 19.

Williams found his range as he dropped 22 points in the Bulldogs win.

Bury return to Suffolk league action for their next game, hosting Brightlingsea Cossacks at Skyliner Sports Centre on 15th December at 6:00pm.
