Bulldogs hosted Felixstowe Thunder at Skyliner on Sunday, in a fixture sponsored by Gascoynes Accountants.

Jess O'Brian took Player of the Game honours in the win against Felixstowe.

Bulldogs opened up to a 6-0 lead in the early going as Wise and Jess O’Brian registered early scores, but as Thunder began connecting from distance, the Bury side eased off and began to exchange baskets. Scores from Ash Read, Jack Collins and Andy Binns extended the lead back out to 21-15, before Thunder went on a 10-0 run to regain the lead.

A timeout from Coach MacDonald was followed by scores from Oliver Barratt, Jim Walker and Neil Thompson, giving the home side a 29-27 lead at the half.

Bulldogs managed to get to the foul line with regularity throughout the third, but failed to extend their lead significantly, but kept the scoreboard ticking over into the final quarter, finally getting some breathing space halfway through the fourth before Thunder made another run to bring the game back to three points with just a minute to play.

Another timeout saw Bulldogs close the game out with a trio of scores from O’Brian to go alongside consecutive defensive stops as they sealed a 65-56 win.

David Wise's scoring streak continued, as he led the way with 18 points.

"It was a scrappy game" said Coach MacDonald "but the important thing for us was to get the win today and to close out this week unbeaten. It's also never a bad thing to get some crunch time reps for the guys."

Captain Glenn Collins echoed his coach saying "It wasn't the prettiest game, but we closed out the win in the end."

David Wise again led the scoring with 18, with O’Brian adding 13 points in a Player of the Game performance.
