Bury St. Edmunds Basketball Club hereby gives notice of the 2020 Annual General Meeting on Sunday 16th August 2020, at 5:00pm.

Due to the anticipated numbers of attendees, and the requirement to maintain safe social distancing, the management committee have made the decision to hold the AGM via the Zoom Platform.

Unfortunately, this means that only 100 accounts can log-in and attend the meeting.

If you are a current member of the club, or have sent an expression of interest in playing next season and would be interested in attending the AGM, please email: bulldogsbasketball@hotmail.co.uk with the title "AGM" and we will get back to you to confirm your attendance and share a link to attend prior to the event.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

  1. Welcome

  2. Chair's Report

  3. Secretary's Report

  4. Welfare Officer's Report

  5. Treasurer's Report

  6. Head Coach's Report

  7. Election of Officers: - Chair - Vice Chair x 2 - Secretary - Treasurer

  8. Close.

As this is an Annual General Meeting, there will be no "Any Other Business", however, as is traditional, we will reserve time for a Q&A session with the Management Committee following the meeting. It should also be noted that there may be a specific update from our COVID-19 officer, or this may be encompassed within another relevant update.

Currently, we have the following members of the Management Committee:

Chair - Ashley MacDonald

Vice Chair (Club Service) - Mark Knight

Vice Chair (Club Business) - Glenn Collins

Secretary - Lynne Quelch

Treasurer - Sebastian Benford

Welfare Officer* - Lynne Quelch

Head Coach* - Arron MacDonald Associate Head Coach* - Hayley Rigby

* Position appointed by the Management Committee, as per constitution, in the first Management Committee meeting of the season. All other committee roles are appointed as per roles and responsibilities.

As per the constitution, all officers will resign their role at the meeting, before we vote on new officers to take their place.

At this time, only Sebastian Benford (our Treasurer) has announced that he does not intend to return to the role next season. All other officers are willing to return for the 2020/21 season.

This means that we are presently seeking volunteers for the following roles:

  • Treasurer

  • Team Manager - Senior Women

  • Team Manager - U14 Girls

  • Fundraising Lead

  • Fundraising Team

If you would be interested in applying for any of these roles, please contact us via email, ideally with at least 14 days' notice prior to the AGM. This is also the case if you would be interested in any of the other Management Committee Roles at the club.

Role profiles for all of our voluntary roles are available here.
