Bury St. Edmunds Basketball Club are delighted to announce the signing of Nick Fearon, as both a player and a Coach at the club.

Fearon's playing career featured stops at Milton Keynes Lions (now London Lions), Greenwich Titans and London Greenhouse Pioneers, as well as the University of Wolverhampton - where he graduated with a degree in sports coaching.

As a Coach, Fearon was Head Basketball Coach at Greenhouse Sports for four years, Head Coach at Platanos College, and has also been Head Coach of England U16/U18 Boys.

Head Coach Arron MacDonald had this to say on the signing:

"Nick is the kind of signing we could only have dreamt about a year or two ago. The most important thing for us is his character - he's a great guy, and is someone that our young players can look up to. He's a high level player, with superb basketball IQ, and he's a welcome addition to our Men's National League side - where I think he can have tremendous impact for us this season. However, as a Coach, Nick can arguably have an even bigger impact for our club - it is a massive coup for us to have a coach of Nick's talent and experience joining us, but it's also a sign of the progress we continue to make at the club."

"I'm excited to be joining the club." said Nick. "It's an exciting time for the club as a whole: I'm joining a great cohort of players with the Men's side, and I'm delighted to have the challenge of wearing two hats for the club. I'm aiming to make a positive impact and help us to continue to grow and improve - both on the court and from the sidelines."

Coach Fearon will be leading the U12's mixed side at the club this season, and mentoring some of our younger coaches who have progressed through the #IWill programme.
