Everyone at the club was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the pioneers of basketball in Bury St. Edmunds, our Coach of the Decade for the 1990’s, John Drury, for whom we held a one-minute silence ahead of our recent National League Game against the University of Nottingham.
The club has received a number of messages from around our region, remembering John as a fantastic player and coach - but more importantly as a true "gentleman of the game".
Following the sad loss of another of our "founding fathers", John Symons, in 2019, and knowing that John Drury was terminally ill, the club elected to put "John" on the front of our National League kits this season - recognising that without their contributions, our club would not be here today.
Our thoughts are with John’s family and loved ones at this time.
