Bury St Edmunds Bulldogs local league team fell just short in a crucial, league-deciding game against Cambourne Raptors in Cambridge Division 2.

It was a slow start to the game with both teams defending well. Bulldogs led by one at the end of the first following some great shooting from Sonjay.

Both teams traded baskets throughout the 2nd and 3rd with Raptors taking a narrow lead. Some cheap fast break points cost the Suffolk side dearly late in the game, with Raptors taking the game 80-68 at the end.

Coach Glenn Collins said “it was a disappointing result with too many mistakes costing us an important game”.

The team hope to bounce back in another crucial away game on Sunday in Division 2 of the Suffolk Senior League.
