The club enjoyed its' first ever Casino Night last week at Moreton Hall Community Centre, with a large crowd on-hand to support the event, and the club.

The volunteer-run event was a huge success for the club, raising much-needed funds to be reinvested in the growth of the club, while the guests enjoyed roulette, poker, blackjack, 'play your cards right' and wheel of fortune, amongst other games.

The event was supported by Castle Capers, whose roulette table and blackjack were a particular draw on the night, expertly run by Club Captain Billy Smith and Camille Hourtane.

While the hall was decorated and ready for the night thanks to our friends at Prep a Party, who we'll be back in touch with for future events, following their superb and friendly service!

The club also had one of its' alumni to thank for the success of the evening, with former Reserve Team Captain Jon Kay, of Bury St. Edmunds Canine Creche, who took a break from making dogs happy and trying to make Bury St. Edmunds the most dog-friendly town around, by running the poker table for the evening!
The evening's big winner was Yveline Northern, who in addition to a "full house" gift voucher at the Bulldogs Club Shop, won a weekend in a brand new BMW, courtesy of Lancaster BMW. While runners-up were delighted to receive more Bulldogs goodies, bottles of bubbly and kegs of Adnams - as well as a gift voucher for The Playground!

Head Coach Arron MacDonald had this to say about the night, "I know I'm prone to hyperbole, but if you were a part of this evening, I cannot understand how you'd think anything other than what an amazing, special club we have here."
"To the many volunteers who helped make the night what it was, thank you, and especially to the Head of our Fundraising Committee Lynne Quelch - without whom I don't think we'd have ever pulled something like this together. It's testament to the work ethic of everyone involved that so many of the Casino Night attendees are already asking about our next event!" - Coach MacDonald
"It was great to get such a huge crowd of people along to our off-court home, the Moreton Hall Community Centre, so early in the season, to have some fun, blow off some steam and support our club. If we can continue this momentum, and keep getting support like this from our community, I believe we'll be well on the way to giving our town a basketball club to rally behind, and really be proud of."
If you've got a little bit of spare time and a LOT of enthusiasm, we'd love to have more volunteers join our fundraising committee! If you'd be interested in becoming a part of our club, please get in touch.
